It’s that time of the week again! For this week’s “Feature Friday” installment I have chosen Miri Ben-Ari‘s “4 Flat Tires” song featuring Lil Wayne, Birdman, and Six Shot. The track, which was recorded around the same time as Weezy was working on his Tha Carter II project, appears on Miri‘s The Hip-Hop Violinist album that was released in 2005.
Lil Wayne Hits The Studio With Mannie Fresh To Work On “Tha Carter V”
Charles Pettaway, who is a music producer and song-writer, shared a
photo today of him in the studio with Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh working
on the upcoming Tha Carter V album.
Since Tha Carter dropped back in 2004, Weezy F Baby has not rapped over any Mannie beats on his official albums, so it would be crazy to see Mannie Fresh production on C5.

Lil Wayne Ties Jay-Z’s “Hot 100” Top 10 Record After “Loyal” Reaches #9 On The Billboard Chart Read
This week, Chris Brown’s “Loyal” single featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga has
moved up to the #9 spot on Billboard’s “Hot 100” chart. This makes it
Tunechi‘s 19th song that has appeared in the “Hot 100” top 10 list since
he began his music career.
Only Jay-Z has scored more top 10s than Wayne on Billboard’s “Hot 100” chart with a total of 21. However, Young Money as a group have also had two singles appear in the “Hot 100” top 10 list (“Every Girl” and “Bed Rock”), so that brings Tune‘s total up to the same as Jay‘s – 21.

Turk Recalls Him & Lil Wayne Having An Old Conversation About Signing To No Limit Records
In a recent interview with Vlad TV, former Hot Boys member Turk discusses a conversation that he had with Lil Wayne back in the day about considering to leave Cash Money Records and going to sign with Master P‘s No Limit Records label.
Turk mentions that him and Weezy had this conversation because Master P was giving his artists’ cars and houses, while Birdman wasn’t, but he did say that not long after this conversation, Baby started to give them what they felt they deserved.
Also during the interview, Turk recalls stories of things that him and Tune used to do together when they were homeboys back in the day. Some of these things included shooting paintgun balls outside of their hotel window, getting caught in the rain in a drop-top Jaguar, and counting how many panties they had every week to see who had the most sex.

IRS Slaps Lien on Lil Wayne for $12 Million Dollahs in Unpaid Taxes!
If you’ve ever did the unthinkable and wished you was Lil Wayne, today you can be thankful that you’re not.
That’s because Weezy or as the Uncle Sam refers to him, Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., owes the IRS a little over $12,155,084 in back taxes. Oh yeah, that “little over” part comes to 46 cents.
On top of that, according to Jose Lambiet’s Gossip Extra, the IRS isn’t waiting for the lil fella to contact them; they’ve slapped a lien on him for the full amount.
Here’s the deal. According to the lien filed with the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Court’s office, Wayne failed to pay an extra $5.8 million for the tax year 2011 and $6.3 million for 2012, the Internal Revenue Service claims.
If Wayne doesn’t pay up, the feds will go after his La Gorce mansion, which cost him $11.6 million in 2011.

Is Lil Wayne eager to drop ‘Tha Carter V’ to fans?
Lil Wayne could have a brand new album looming on the musical horizon.
Fans have anxiously awaited the release of Tha Carter V what seems like ages. Although Lil Wayne hasn’t officially said anything about the project in a while, there’s a possibility the record could finally see the light of day.
Drake recently hit up Twitter with a brief message that caused a bit of a sensation on the micro-blogging site. The post was short and sweet, though this didn’t stop folks from wondering if the long-awaited album is finally happening.
Of course, this isn’t the first time news about the arrival of Tha Carter V has hit Twitter. Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money Records’ Mel Smith teased the arrival of the record in October of last year.
“Will this be a real retirement or one of your usual retirements, or a rap retirement when you make 12 albums after that. I mean Tupac died and he’s still making albums,” Kimmel joked.
He replied, “Yes that is true, I want to retire after ‘Tha Carter V.’”
So how do folks on Twitter feel about the possibility of album’s potential release? Check out some Twitter reactions on the subject below.

Birdman’s Son Says Lil Wayne Will Not Retire After Carter V, Calls The Album “Unbelievable”
According to Birdman‘s son, Bryan Williams Jr., Lil Wayne will not be retiring from music after he releases his Tha Carter V album. Bryan logged on to the social network website Ask.fm recently to let some people ask him a few questions.
These questions included if Weezy will really be retiring after Tha Carter V, his thoughts on the upcoming album, if No Ceilings 2 will ever happen, which album he prefers out of Tha Carter V and The Carter 3 if he thinks Dhea is nice, and more.

Lil Wayne's 30 Biggest BillBoard Hits
Check out the list below to see which Lil Wayne songs have been the biggest of his still-dynamic career arc.
Down
The song was released in North America as his debut single from his first album there, All or Nothing. In other markets, including the UK, the song serves as Jay Sean's lead single from his third studio album. The track was released to US radio on 31 May 2009, and digital retailers on 30 June 2009. "Down" hit number one on the Billboard Hot Number-one single chart in the issue dated 17 October 2009, knocking The Black Eyed Peas off the top of the chart after their 26 week reign at number one.his made Jay Sean the first British act to score a Billboard Hot 100 number-one single since Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" in 2008, and the fourth British act overall this decade.[8] The song has also made him "the first UK Urban act ever to top Billboard's Hot 100",[9] the ninth (second British) male solo performer to top the US charts with his debut single in the US, and the first British act to have reached No. 1 in the US and not in the UK with a song since Seal's "Kiss From a Rose" in 1995. It is also the best-selling single by a British/European male artist in North America since Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" in 1997,[and the first by a British Asian artist since Freddie Mercury in 1980.
2. Lollipop
The first single from "Tha Carter III" proved to be the album's biggest hit, despite being a weird, minimal, Auto-tuned jam that few saw coming from the rising star. Lil Wayne's explicit ode to everything nasty carried a sad note with its chart rise, as the song's featured artist, Static Major, died suddenly in February 2008.3. Let It Rock
Weezy gave a huge assist (and a verse and a half) to Cash Money signee Kevin Rudolf on the smash first single from the singer-songwriter's "In The City" album. "Let It Rock," which crashed the Top 10 of the Hot 100 in 2008, has easily proven to be Rudolf's biggest hit, although he once again tapped Lil Wayne for follow-up singles "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)" and "Champions."4. Soldier
Before Lil Wayne got money and T.I. asked what we know about that, the rappers assisted the ladies of Destiny's Child on this 2004 jam from their final studio album, "Destiny Fulfilled." The song, which impressively scaled the U.S. Hot 100, found Lil Wayne still establishing his superstar potential one year before "Tha Carter II" brought him newfound buzz.5. How To Love
Lil Wayne slowed it down and scored with this "Carter IV" ballad about a
girl who can't seem to find that "forever" kind of love. Along with
semi-justifying Weezy's dip into rock with "Rebirth," "How To Love"
helped the fourth entry in Wayne's "Carter" series move 964,000 copies
in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan
6. Look At Me Now
Whatever your feelings toward Chris Brown, it's hard to say the elastic
ferocity of Diplo's beat on his "F.A.M.E." single, which scaled the pop
charts and dominated the hip-hop tally last year. Busta Rhymes runs
rampant with his verse, but Weezy drops the most revealing line: "My
pockets right and my diamonds white/And my momma's nice, and my daddy's
dead
7. Can't Believe It
In the same year that "Got Money" blasted onto the chart, T-Pain and Lil Wayne slowed things down for the first official single to the former's "The33 Ringz" album. While shots of Lil Wayne singing in Auto-tune on a ferris wheel in the music video remain comforting, that planned "T-Wayne" album is looking less and less likely.8. The Motto
Drake capped off his sophomore LP "Take Care" with winning Lil Wayne
collaborations like "HYFR" and "The Real Her," but "The Motto"
immediately stood out as a rapid-fire late-album gem. While Weezy struts
around comfortable alongside T-Minus' beat, credit must go to his
protege for coining "YOLO" on this track.
9. A Milli
Positioned as the third track on "Tha Carter III," "A Milli" was the
moment in which Wayne's breakout album became a classic. Working over
Bangladesh's indelible beat, Weezy delivers an endless stream of
quotable lyrics -- who could look at Orville Redenbacher popcorn the
same way after this song? -- and made us reconsider the difference
between goons and goblins.
10. Forever
Released on the soundtrack from the LeBron James documentary "More Than a Game," "Forever" earned the four MCs another ring on Top 40 radio. Lil Wayne takes the third quarter here, while Eminem blacks out during the finale to easily win the game.11. Got Money
The most gleeful single from "Tha Carter III," "Got Money" was an Auto-tuned party that acted as Lil Wayne's answer to Kanye West's T-Pain-assisted 2007 single "Good Life." Four years later, the bank-robbery music video is as goofy as ever.
12. I'm On One
Khaled's 2011 hip-hop summit featured a slithering beat, Drake
hopscotching between crooning and spitting, Rick Ross in full Bawse mode
and Weezy comparing himself to Pat Reilly. How could it fail? It
didn't, and Khaled's superstar friends gave him yet another hit.
13. You
Who would have known that the song Lloyd leaked himself to Atlanta
radio, back in 2010, would become he and Lil Wayne's first No. 1 on
R&B/Hip-Hop Songs? The singer's smooth mid-tempo beat took fans and
radio by storm quickly thereafter, as it made its way to No. 9 on the
Hot 100 chart.
14. 6 Foot 7 Foot
Lil Wayne hit the ground running after being released from a nine-month
prison term in late 2010. After teasing fans with two verses on
Birdman's "Fire Flame," Weezy teamed up with "A Milli" producer
Bangladesh and Cory Gunz for yet another Hot 100 top 10.
15. Right Above It
Before his nine-month prison stint, Lil Wayne recorded one his most
successful collaborative singles, "Right Above It." The "I Am Not a
Human Being" single peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100 in 2010
16. Motivation
Kelly Rowland was re-introduced as a more sexier version of herself with last year's seductive summer slow jam, "Motivation." The Jim Jonsin-produced track wouldn't be what it is without Wayne's silly double-entendres, and "Motivation" undoubtedly helped Kelly's "Here I Am" album peak at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
17. Make It Rain
Aside from the whimsical wordplay, Lil Wayne is known to lay down an
addictive hook such as on Fat Joe's "Make It Rain." Fat Joe's first
single off "Me, Myself & I," featuring Weezy, was nominated for a
2008 Grammy Award.
18. Mrs.Cater
Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" was stocked with Hot 100 hits, including
this song dedicated to the lady-cops of the world. The song, featuring
Bobby V crooning the siren-sounding hook, was Weezy's seventh song from
the No. 1 album to chart on the Hot 100.
19. She Will
When two of Young Money's most wanted hit makers team up on a song, it's
sure to blasts its way on to the charts. "She Will," the Drake-assisted
single from "Tha Carter IV," peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and
eventually ascended to No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
20. Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)
Wyclef tapped some famous friends to spin a yarn about the power of
money and its negative effects on a young lady. Interpolating the hook
of Wu-Tang Clan's "C.R.E.A.M.," "Sweetest Girl" was the cream of the
crop on Jean's 2007 album, "Carnival Vol. 2: Memoirs of an Immigrant."
21. Turnin On Me
Keri Hilson is now a star in the R&B/pop world, but it wasn't until
"Turnin' Me On" with Lil Wayne that the singer saw chart success. The
singer's second single, featuring Weezy spitting his signature sexual
similes, became her biggest hit until "Knock You Down."
22. Gimme That
"Gimme That," Chris Brown and Lil Wayne's first collaboration, was the
first sign of how successful of a team the two artists can be. The song
not only marked their first of many Hot 100 collaborative hits but
followed the success of Breezy's "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)" and "Run It!"
23. Go Dj
With the help of the addictive soundscapes courtesy of Mannie Fresh, "Go
DJ," the second single from "Tha Carter," became Lil Wayne's first solo
song to see the top of the charts. "Go DJ" peaked at No. 14 on the Hot
100 chart.
24. Swagga Like Us
"You can go see Weezy for word play, Jee-z for the bird play, Kanyeezy for diversity and me for controversy," T.I. closes the prolific "Paper Trail" collaborative second single. T.I. brought some of hip-hop's biggest names to the upper reaches of the Hot 100 with "Swagga Like Us," which samples M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes."
25. Duffle Bag Boy
Before 2 Chainz earned his first Billboard 200 No. 1 with "Based on a
T.R.U. Story," the rapper, then known as Tity Boi, climbed the Hot 100
chart with his and Dolla Boy's first single, "Duffle Bag Boy." Lil
Wayne, on the recognizable hook, gave Playaz Circle a most welcome lift.
26. My Life
"When you're in the studio with Wayne, you could pretty much chill, man,
because everything is so easy," Game once said of Lil Wayne. "He keeps
it 100, I keep it 100." The rappers' "easy" sonic connection on "My
Life" led them to see success across the Billboard charts (No. 21 on Hot
100, No. 4 on Rap Songs, and No. 15 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs).
27. I Can Transform Ya
Chris Brown, like Lil Wayne, is known to turn a song from ordinary to
extraordinary, so it's no surprise that when they team up, as on "I Can
Transform Ya," the collaboration will see success. The first single off
Chris Brown's "Graffiti" introduced an electronic-infused sound that
Breezy would carry throughout his following projects, and strengthen a
prosperous bromance between both rapper and singer.
28. I Made It
After finding Top 10 success with his 2008 song "Let It Rock" alongside
Weezy, Kevin Rudolf calls upon his "Cash Money heroes" for yet another
chart-climber, "I Made It."
29. Strange Clouds
B.o.B. kicks off his second studio album, of the same title, by
recruiting Weezy to join him in laying aggressive wordplay over Dr. Luke
and Cirkut's dubstep/hip-hop soundscapes. The result was another Hot
100 hit for both artists.
30. Stuntin' Like My Daddy
Since Birdman took Lil Wayne under his wing, the Cash Money rappers have proven there's much value in a father and son relationship. Off their collaborative album "Like Father, Like Son," first single "Stuntin' Like My Daddy," re-instates Cash Money's everlasting power in the game.Tuesday, 21 January 2014

Buy Lil Wayne's Clothing Line Trukfit
Lil Wayne has now added "creative director" to his ever-growing status as a hip-hop hyphenate with TRUKFIT a newly launched contemporary streetwear brand.
An acronym for “The Reason You Kill For It,” TRUKFIT is inspired by Wayne’s childhood experiences in the Magnolia Projects of New Orleans, where, as a kid, he would snag gear from the back of a clothing booster truck (i.e. imposter clothes). When people would spot these knockoff duds, they’d often say, “You got on the truck fit." Wayne hopes to flip that negative memory into a positive with his new line and, thus, change the connotation of the word.

When people would spot these knockoff duds, they’d often say, “You got on the truck fit." Wayne hopes to flip that negative memory into a positive with his new line and, thus, change the connotation of the word.
TRUKFIT is aesthetically rooted in skater culture, and every piece of the collection is something Lil Wayne — an avid skater himself — would conceivably wear. Colorful fitted hats with a skateboarder avatar or tees emblazoned with messages like “Martians Truk The Wurl” and “Fear None/RSPCT Few” are the line’s current staples, but plans to expand into other apparel and accessories are on the horizon.
Wayne’s artistic process as creative director, much like his rapping, is more freestyle than traditional, and he hatches ideas at will. His stylist, Marisa Flores, says that the rapper’s tastes aren’t inspired by typical trends but rather what’s going on in the streets around the world: “I feel like he just gets ideas and tells us about them!” Flores herself worked with skate brands prior to styling Wayne and introduced him to many of the definitive looks (tighter fits, hoodies, skate shoes) some three years ago, which he quickly embraced and then helped to popularize among other rappers.
TRUKFIT tees are priced reasonably around $32, and hats are $28. Brand Executive Mike Morris stresses that democratizing the line was important to Wayne. “He wanted to have a line that everyone could afford. He didn’t want to out-price the product.”
TRUKFIT will be sold at Zumiez stores, Zumiez.com and Karmaloop.com starting early February. Expect to see plenty of Wayne’s heavy-hitter friends from the worlds of music, sports and general celebrity rocking TRUKFIT in the coming year. The brand already plans to have presence at the upcoming Grammy Awards and the NBA All-Star Weekend Players Ball. Says Morris, “You’ll see it on everyone pretty soon.”

Lil Wayne Takes Ownership Stake in French Fashion Watch Brand Wize & Ope
But Louzon had no interest in discussing equity deals until artist services consultant Efe Ogbeni of Worldpasport convinced him to fly out to Los Angeles to a video shoot of Lil Wayne and talk about working with the Grammy Award-winning rapper/entrepreneur.
“I met him in his trailer at 3 a.m. in Universal Studios. He loved the watches, asked lots of smart questions and then said, ‘Let’s do it,’” Louzon says.
Ogbeni, who has brokered similar deals with Nicki Minaj, among others, then took Louzon to meet Wayne’s managers at Blueprint. They elevated the discussions to include taking a significant equity stake in the overall Wize & Ope brand, which is already being positioned for ambitions beyond wrist watches in the near future.
“When Efe brought this to us it was a great fit, because we’d been looking at a couple of different things to expand Wayne’s entrepreneurial portfolio outside of music,” Blueprint co-CEO Cortez Bryant says. Among the many attractions was the opportunity to take a stake in a relatively small, young company that Bryant and partner/co-CEO Gee Roberson beli
Wayne’s relationship with established brands hasn’t always been smooth sailing. In May he was droppedfrom his multimillion-dollar endorsement deal with Mountain Dew following offensive lyrics related to Emmet Till, a 1950s victim of a racist attack.
While financial terms of the stake agreement weren’t disclosed, a source familiar with the talks says Wayne will own as much as 25% of the business. Two others describe the deal as a “value exchange” with no cash changing hands in order to take the stake. Wayne will be the overall U.S. brand ambassador for Wize & Ope. “Wayne brings more than cash to the table,” Louzon says. “He brings brand trust and credibility.”
The hope is to build on the success of Wayne’s Trukfit and Spectre by Supra fashion brands that have been worn by fellow celebrities like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus and have retail distribution in major outlets like Macy’s and Dillards.
Wize & Ope has sold nearly 200,000 watches since 2011 and is set for major expansion of its distribution in Asia ahead of the U.S. launch with Wayne.
The U.S. market for midpriced fashion watches grew 11% to $850 million between August 2012 and August 2013, according to Fred Levin, an analyst with NPD Group’s LGI Network.
eve has huge potential to expand when Wayne helps it fully roll out in the United States next summer.

See when I got Mercedes, I went and got a Mercedes
When I got that Bentley, I went and got that Bentley
Now if ye ain't help me make it, don't tell me how to spend it
And yes I know the rules, never marry Robin Givens
Mozzarella over bitches til we call them bitches cheeseheads
Lambeau leap in that pussy like in Green Bay
Lambo' suite look like sugar on the freeway
And I'm "Ridin Dirty" cause I'm so U-G-K
One two three wait, fo' fo' makes eight
Nine times out of 10 it's eleven or a 12 gauge
Friday the 13th, that's the day that hell raise
But y'all boys too weak, like fo'teen days

I'ma smoke my weed and I don't wanna smoke yours
And I pour four, every time I pour
[Chorus: Lil Wayne]
Like, is you sayin somethin bitch

[Bun B]
See when I got that slab money I put the Rivvy on blades

We 'bout to do this for Pimp C, so pass me a bottle
I'm 'bout to pop the top on it like a slab or a model
Turn it upside down then po' it out for my lil' bro
Then pass me another one so I can po' out a lil' mo'

[Bun B]
Is it the ice in the piece or the ice in the chains?
Is it the ice in the watch or the ice in the Range?
Or the bracelet, face it, you feel the chill in yo' veins
Could it be from Bun Beda or that boy Lil Wayne?
[Lil Wayne]
Or could it be the two-seater, on them thangs
Got on a couple gold chains, so dang-a-dang
I swang and bang, from lane to lane
Yeah, it's gettin hot and you starting to feel the flame
Bun
[Bun B]
It's gettin brick and you starting to feel the breeze
And the temperature's going down, best to get you some sleeves
And you best to get you some G's, 'fore you lose your control
And we turn your whole neighborhood into the North Pale
[Lil Wayne]
Like brrrrrrrrr, machine gun brrrrrrrrrr
I am a beast grrrrrrr, money machine brrrrr
F-U-C-K, C-O-P's
I say I know when they say freeze - yeaahhhhh!
[Chorus: Lil Wayne]
Okay, you already knew
No pussies, no rats, no Tom and Jerry show
And I woke up this mornin, eyes half closed
Looked into the mirror like damn I'm cold
Oh damn I'm cold, and my hoes
Damn I'm cold, man I'm throwed
I said damn I'm cold, hot damn I'm cold

Lil Wayne:" The Carter V Is 'My Last Album"
Lil Wayne has had a phenomenal run, but after 19 years in the game, the manic rap machine is looking to pull the plug — and it doesn't seem like he's looking back.
Don't be too alarmed: Weezy still has his 10th solo LP, I Am Not a Human Being II, on deck, and on Wednesday, he premiered his brand-new "No Worries" video on MTV alongside correspondent Sway Calloway. When Sway asked about the sonic makeup of Human Being II, Tunechi compared the work to what should be the next chapter in his most famous musical franchise. "It's like a Carter V," he said.
Nicki Minaj, Drake Show Appreciation For Lil Wayne
So why not just retitle Human Being II to fit the mood? "Because I know y'all want me around for a little bit, and Carter V is my last album," Weezy revealed. "Man, I've been rappin' since I was 8 years old. I'm 30 now, man. That's a long time, man."
Weezy's next LP will hit shelves February 19, and after that, who knows when Tha Carter V will come or if there will be another album between the two? What's clear is that Wayne has other interests outside the studio, most notably his love for skateboarding and then, of course, there is his TrukFit clothing line. "When I love to do something, I'm fully focused on it and it only. And music sometimes is not that 'it,' " he said.
Weezy put out his first solo album, Tha Block Is Hot, in 1999, but before that, he was cutting his teeth on Cash Money Records as part of the groups Hot Boys and the B.G.'z. If you go on to count his nine solo LPs, four Hot Boys albums, 2006 tag-team album with Birdman (Like Father, Like Son), his 2009 YMCMB compilation (We Are Young Money) and the dizzying number of mixtapes he has dropped, it becomes easier to understand how Wayne may be all rapped out.
"I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14. I'm 30 now. Thank God I haven't put out an album that hasn't went platinum," he said. "To just keep it goin' like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I'm fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great."
Weezy will drop I Am Not a Human Being II on February 19
In terms of the music fans can expect this time around, Wayne admits that he's stepping into uncharted territory by working with artists like Juicy J. "Juicy J beats are dark, and I never rapped on dark music like that," he explained.

About Lil Wayne
Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. (born September 27, 1982), known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1991, at the age of nine, Lil Wayne joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label, and half of the duo The B.G.'z, alongside fellow New Orleans-based rapper Lil' Doogie. In 1996, Lil Wayne formed the Southern hip hop group Hot Boys, with his Cash Money label-mates Juvenile, Young Turk and Lil' Doogie (who now went by B.G.). Hot Boys debuted with Get It How U Live! that same year. Lil Wayne gained most of his success with the group's major selling album Guerrilla Warfare (1999). Along with being the flagship artist of Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne is also the chief executive officer (CEO) of his own imprint, Young Money Entertainment, which he founded in 2005.
Lil Wayne's debut studio album Tha Block Is Hot (1999), was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His following albums, Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002), were certified gold. He reached higher popularity with Tha Carter (2004), which was led by the single "Go D.J.", also appearing on Destiny's Child's top ten single "Soldier", that same year. The album was followed by Tha Carter II (2005) and several mixtapes and collaborations throughout 2006 and 2007. Tha Carter III
(2008) became Lil Wayne's most successful album to date, with
first-week sales of over 1 million copies in the United States. It
included the number-one single "Lollipop", as well as "A Milli" and "Got Money", and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
Following the success of Tha Carter III, Lil Wayne decided to record a rock album titled Rebirth, in which he is featured playing guitar and singing with the help of Auto-Tune.
The album, released in 2010, was certified gold by the RIAA, despite a
generally negative critical response. In March 2010, Lil Wayne began
serving an 8-month prison sentence in New York after being convicted of
criminal possession of a weapon stemming from an incident in July 2007.
Wayne's eighth album I Am Not a Human Being (2010), was released during his prison sentence. His 2011 album and first following his release, Tha Carter IV, sold 964,000 copies in its first week of availability in the United States. It featured the singles "6 Foot 7 Foot", "How to Love" and "She Will". On September 27, 2012, Lil Wayne passed Elvis Presley as the male with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 109 songs.
